Lethargy.
No energy. No motivation. Have you felt that lately? And you just put it down
to work and stress? My brother, you could be wrong. These are classic symptoms
of low testosterone levels in your body. Testosterone is that hormone that
makes you the sexy men we love – beard/mustache, deep voice...
Many
men pay little attention to subtle changes in their health and could ignore
these signs for a while. Even if you work out and are muscular, you can still get
low levels of testosterone. Fatigue, mood swings and decreased sex drive are
also symptoms
and guess what, you don’t have to be 55, to have low testosterone levels; an increasing number of young men have low levels.
So
if you’re suddenly unable to perform, feel like you don’t have strength and
start feeling irritable or depressed, maybe you should get blood tests to
confirm your hormone levels. Normal levels are 300 to 1000 nanograms per
deciliter. Low testosterone can be
caused by aging, testicular cancer, thyroid diseases or injuries to the testes.
Treatments include testoterone skin patches, muscle injections or tablets.
These
treatments can have side effects such as rash reactions or your body might stop
producing testosterone naturally. There is also the increased risk of blood
clots. Instead of going for expensive and sometimes dangerous treatments, FMBC
recommends some natural ways to boost your testosterone levels:
1) Get more zinc
in your diet by eating red meat, eggs and dairy. You can also take a
multivitamin
2) Nuts! Nuts!
Nuts! Get monounsaturated fats in nuts and olive oil.
3) Keep fit and exercise
with weights to improve muscle. Get rid of excess fat through jogging, regular work
outs and a healthy diet.
4) Get enough
sleep
5) Don’t drink and
smoke excessively. The energy your body should be using to increase levels of testosterone
level, it uses to flush out toxins from alcohol and tobacco.
We
need our men to be MEN. Please take care of yourselves. Muah
